So much content (sigh*)

Over the last few days I have just been reviewing potential content and what has already been included so far. Would you like to know what I have concluded? No? Well this is my blog so shut up and listen. Basically the period in Japanese history is one of great turmoil, it has since been called Sengoku Jidai (the age of the country at war). Then as Nobunaga enters the fray there are several lords who have managed to subjegate the territories around them and have become power houses. These include the Takeda (under Shingen) and the Uesugi (under Kenshin) in the north and the Mori (under an assortment of quick successions) in the west and Nobunaga in central Japan. Then under all of these you have their own vassals and then below them you have futher retainers and clans and extended branches of each clan.

So basically even after a massive reducing effort on my part the storyline shall not be straight forward due to intrigue and just generally complex and unpredictable characters.

So back to the point I was going to make, I am considering the very real possibility that the book 'The rise and fall of the Demon king' will have to be divided into volumes due to the sheer quantity of content. I mean, I am at 65 thousand words and I am nowhere near finished, not even 50%, the first draft.

Pretty boring post today just keeping you guys up to date with what's going on.

Back again

So today in between my lessons I actually managed to get some writing done. Sadly though I am back home no and I am being thoroughly distracted by the array of media's and peoples around, but I shall persevere. (I am going to begin posting with some regularity again, hopefully btw)

Writing is hard when at school

As the title suggests I am struggling with writing at the moment due to school taking up a lot of time and they are not exactly cushy subjects (as), Bio, Chem, Ancient history and psychology, but I am trying, getting into the swing so will probably be setting aside some official writing time.

Will be updating soon. (sorry for any spelling and/or grammatical errors, doing this on the beat and haven't got time to check it yet).

The man, the Conquer, the ruler, the legend

While I have been updating you with what I am writing about I haven't really taken the time to tell you guys what kind of person I think Nobunaga was. And as he is the Main character for the first book you may (or may not) find this interesting.

I personally would liken Oda Nobunaga to Napoleon Bonaparte for the following reasons. The men both rose from fairly low standing (obviously it was slightly easier for Nobunaga as he was actually a lord, but still only a very minor one) then take control of their domain (Nobunaga and Owari province, Napoleon and France). The conquerors then moved on to conquer vast swathes land from the surrounding countries and city states, occupying much of it and setting up small vassal powers and client states. The rulers started many policies that improved the economies and raised national and/or cultural pride of their perspective countries. While nearly everyone in Europe has at least heard of Napoleon and in Japan Oda Nobunaga has been scorched into Japanese folklore and legend.

My apologies

Hey guys, just looking through my posts quickly and it seems I have made an error in the post, Conflict at Nagashima (part 3), sooooooo, sorry. It would appear I have accidentally mixed up some of the events between Nagashima and Ishiyama Hongan-ji. (follow the links to the Wikipedia pages on both). The acidental confusion has arisen because because both are quite similar circumstances, i.e nobunaga beseiging a major Ikko ikki stronghold, therefore I had planned on merging the two into one event, at Nagashima-ja (taking elements from Ishiyama Hongan-ji), in my book rather than having two very similar parts a couple years apart. that was the cause of the confusion on my part, so, sorry.
